Goodreads description--Rapunzel's tower is a satellite. She can't let down her hair - or her guard.

In this third book in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they’re plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and her army.

Their best hope lies with Cress, who has been trapped on a satellite since childhood with only her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker – unfortunately, she’s just received orders from Levana to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice.

When a daring rescue goes awry, the group is separated. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a high price. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing stop her marriage to Emperor Kai. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only ones who can.

Goodreads description--She's a tomboy. He's the boy next door…

Charlie Reynolds can outrun, outscore, and outwit every boy she knows. But when it comes to being a girl, Charlie doesn't know the first thing about anything. So when she starts working at a chichi boutique to pay off a speeding ticket, she finds herself in a strange new world. To cope with the stress of her new reality, Charlie takes to spending nights chatting with her neighbor Braden through the fence between their yards. As she grows to depend on their nightly Fence Chats, she realizes she's got a bigger problem than speeding tickets-she's falling for Braden. She knows what it means to go for the win, but if spilling her secret means losing him for good, the stakes just got too high.

Goodreads description--I am a secret no one is able to tell.

Blythe Hallowell is sixteen when she is abducted by a survivalist and locked away in an abandoned missile silo in Eudora, Kansas. At first, she focuses frantically on finding a way out, until the harrowing truth of her new existence settles in—the crushing loneliness, the terrifying madness of a captor who believes he is saving her from the end of the world, and the persistent temptation to give up. But nothing prepares Blythe for the burden of raising a child in confinement. Determined to give the boy everything she has lost, she pushes aside the truth about a world he may never see for a myth that just might give meaning to their lives below ground. Years later, their lives are ambushed by an event at once promising and devastating. As Blythe’s dream of going home hangs in the balance, she faces the ultimate choice—between survival and freedom.

Above is a riveting tale of resilience in which "stunning" (Daily Beast) new literary voice Isla Morley compels us to imagine what we would do if everything we had ever known was taken away. Like the bestselling authors of Room and The Lovely Bones before her, Morley explores the unthinkable with haunting detail and tenderly depicts our boundless capacity for hope.

That's it for my shelves and recaps of my past and upcoming week. What did you add to your shelves this week? Any bookish news you want to talk about? Let me know!

Good thing to know I can borrow books 2 and 3 of the Lunar Chronicles once I finally read book one I got for Christmas. ;) The other 2 sound interesting. Curious to see what you think of them.

I loved the first two books but why I haven't gotten Cress as soon as it came out? I have no idea. I think I already planned my month of reads and forgot to add it in. Hoping to read it sooner rather than later. Loving the over of Above and the synopsis sounds fantastic. Trying to avoid netgalley but I might have to stop by today :)

    Have a great week!

  11. Cress is amazing. I love that series so much and I'm going to be sad when it ends! Great books. I have On The Fence, but I'm not sure if I'll get to it. I didn't read The Distance Between Us, but I know you don't have to. My STS: http://www.thecovercontessa.com/2014/02/staking-shelves-6.html

  13. Yes, Cress released this past week and there didn't seem to be too many people who had access to copies ahead of time so most everyone picked it up this past week I would suspect. I really love this series. It's such a unique concept and Marissa Meyer works the fairytales in so wonderfully. Oh and Carter Finally Gets It....HILARIOUS!!!!!! The audiobook is the best! Thanks for stopping by!

  14. Oh no, I hate to hear you didn't like Pivot Point. I haven't read it yet. I own it...I just haven't gotten around to it. But I really enjoyed The Distance Between Us. Thanks for stopping by and for checking out my other reviews!

  15. Of course you can! They're really good books! You wouldn't think Cinderella as a cyborg would work, but it just does. I hope you can start that one soon.

  16. I'm not sure why you didn't get Cress when it first came out. Luckily it's only been out a week--just in time for the price to drop a little maybe??? I already finished it and really enjoyed it. So I hope you get to pick it up soon! Yes the cover of Above is very graphic. I definitely understand avoiding NetGalley. Sometimes it is something that must be done. Thanks for stopping by!
